This bridge piece takes form on an oval hand-crafted Baltic birchwood panel, a shape that suggests continuity and passage, an open portal between inner and outer worlds. Anchored by a French cleat hanging system, the work hovers with both permanence and fluidity.
The surface becomes a landscape of houses, symbols of shelter, belonging, and memorythat multiply and shift in meaning as they are layered through screenprint, paint, and hand-cut silhouettes. Their repetition forms a rhythm, reminding us how the idea of home is never singular but a constellation of lived and imagined spaces.
Infused with light-sensitive, glow-in-the-dark pigments, the piece transforms as daylight fades. What is visible shifts into what is hidden, then revealed again, bridging conscious and subconscious experience. This luminous after-image invites the viewer to see anew, to carry memory forward, and to rediscover familiar forms in altered light.
Through its oval form, architectural imagery, and transformative materials, the work becomes a threshold, a bridge between time, place, and perception.
