STUDIO SALE
This bridge piece takes form on a circular hand-crafted Baltic birchwood panel, a shape that echoes wholeness, cycles, and return. Anchored by a French cleat hanging system, the work hovers on the wall with both permanence and quiet motion.
Its surface begins with the blackest black pigment ever made, a depth that absorbs nearly all visible light. Over this void, layers of hand-painted black acrylic create subtle textures that shift depending on how light falls and from where the piece is viewed. At times the work appears as pure abyss; at others, its surface reveals topographies that catch and release light.
Within this shifting field, houses emerge and dissolve symbols of shelter, memory, and belonging. Repeated in layered forms, they become rhythmic constellations, reminding us that the idea of home is both singular and collective, lived and imagined.
Through its circular form, transformative materials, and architectural imagery, the work becomes a threshold: a bridge between darkness and illumination, presence and absence, the seen and unseen.
